Greetings to the populace of the Middle Kingdom!
In a few months We will be ascending to the Dragon Throne of the Middle Kingdom.
The first duty of a Sovereign is to see to the care and future of the Kingdom. As such, We must secure Our heirs. We will be holding Our Crown Tournament on May 27, 2018, in the the Shire of Mynydd Seren. The tournament will be fought as a standard double elimination. Each round will consist of one fight. The finals will be best three out of five bouts, with no repeating weapon forms. The highest on the Order of Precedence will choose the first weapon form to fight with, and the consort of the loser of each consecutive round will choose the next weapon form. The weapon styles for the finals will be defined as any singlehand weapon and shield, any single-handed weapon and small buckler (18” or less), any single-hand weapon, two weapons, 6’ or smaller single spear, two-handed sword, and pole-arm. Weapons of any length that meet the Middle Kingdom rules of armored combat are allowed. No backup weapons will be allowed. No daggers will be allowed in the Lyst of Crown Tournament. Shields must be tournament shields and the combatant must be able to span the widest section. This means that a shield placed in the armpit of a combatant must be able to be reached by the fingers of the same arm at the widest point. We expect all combatants’ gear to be in good repair and clean at the start of the tournament. Helmets are to be clean of inspection stickers and tape. Armor is not to be taped together (with the exception of necessary repairs during the tournament). No obvious mundane objects are to appear in the list. We expect an effort to have footwear not look mundane.
Letters of Intent must be received by Our Coronation on May 5th, 2018. For any non-Peer combatant We also require a Letter of Recommendation from a Peer of Our Realm. Letters can be handed to Us in person or emailed to TRH@midrealm.org. In addition, both combatant and consort must provide proof of membership through the end of their potential reign as well as modern identification to Our Kingdom Seneschal, Master Justice McArtain at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are excited to oversee the greatest of most glorious of events, Crown Tournament.
